South America is the continent that houses the world’s highest waterfalls (i.e. Angel Falls). It has the size of 17,840,000 sq km and with population of 422,535,000. It has 12 countries. The world’s largest river as per volume and size, Amazon river, is based in South America. It has the highest volcanoes of the world, namely, Mr. Cotopaxi and Mr. Chimborazo. It also has the world’s largest and second longest snake, called the green anaconda.
Moreover, the world’s largest coffee producer, Brazil, is also in South America. Additionally, with largest Salt Lake in the world, South America has the world’s highest lake too, known as Lake Titicaca. The major languages used in this continent include Spanish and Portuguese. Besides that, it is known as the fourth-largest continent in the world.
