Meaning of Dominica flag colors
This country’s flag was designed by Alwin Bully in 1978, the same year as in which it was adopted. The flag is quite comprehensive. The colors mean: Red and Brown: The 10 stars stand for the 10 island parishes. Green: Denotes hope and greenery of the country. Yellow: Original inhabitants and their main agricultural production: banana and citrus. White: Nobility of people and clarity of people. Black: African culture and the rich black soil. Purple: The Sisserou Parrot is a sign of pride in the region.
