Arab League flag
An Arab-restricted IGO, Arab League comprises of Arab speaking African and Asian countries only. Established in 1945 and formed in Cairo, Arab League aims to promote independence and retain sovereignty of its 22 member countries and observers. The members include Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Djibouti, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. On the other hand. The four observers include India, Eritrea, Brazil and Venezuela.
Besides maintaining independence of the respective countries, it also aims to promote trade and accelerate economic prosperity within these nations. The members of the league have enhanced cooperation owing to the Arab League’s efforts into uniting these nations and limiting conflicts through government and cultural programs.
