The OAS, also known as Organization of American States, was founded in 1948. It is known to be an IGO with intends to create cooperation and solidarity among its member states. The official languages include, Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese. The largest city is called São Paulo. Also, it has 35 member states. It aims to encourage cooperation amongst its members on all spectrums including, economic, political, military as well as cultural. It also aims to restrict any outside intervention in the Western Hemisphere. It is headquartered in Washington DC, United States of America. Apart from that, the IGO has also settled border disputed among its members. It also monitors elections. The meetings usually discuss pressing topics like environmental, economic, social development issues.
