Commonwealth of Nation comprises of 54 member states and is simply known as Commonwealth. Member states are mostly former territories of British Empire. It is headquartered in London, United Kingdom and was founded in 1931. The founder of Commonwealth of Nations was Parliament of UK. It has some subsidiaries and has its own flag as well.
The main purpose of this organization is to encourage international cooperation on economic as well as social grounds. It ensures provision of human rights in the member states. Many independent countries from Asia, Europe and the Pacific have joined the Commonwealth as well. Moreover, its membership is based on free basis. Notably, Rwanda and Mozambique have no history with the British Empire. Also, Commonwealth Secretariat was formed to handle Commonwealth’s work.
